Exfolis™ Papaya Enzyme Scrub

SUGAR + PAPAYA ENZYME · SHEA BALM BASE · WHOLE BODY
The scrub that leaves the oil on.

Most body scrubs take the dead cells off and the lipids with them, so you step out smooth and tight at the same time. Exfolis works two ways at once — sugar crystals polish spent surface cells off while a papaya enzyme ferment loosens the bonds holding them on — inside a shea, sunflower and jojoba balm that stays on the skin after the sugar has dissolved. You rinse, and you are already moisturized. Step 2 of the routine, for the body; Renewa does the same job for the face.

Fragrance-free

How this supports longevity: clears spent surface cells without stripping the lipids the barrier is built from, so skin stays smooth and intact over time.

Is it for your skin?

Anyone whose body scrub leaves them smooth but tight. Rough or bumpy upper arms, elbows, knees and heels. Dry legs that flake again a day after moisturizing. Anyone who shaves and wants a smoother pass. Not for the face — that is Renewa's job.

The science

Dead surface cells build up faster than dry body skin sheds them, and that is most of what rough texture is. Exfolis clears them two ways: sucrose crystals do the physical work and dissolve as you massage, so there is a built-in stop point, and a Lactobacillus/papaya ferment brings papain, an enzyme that loosens the protein bonds holding spent cells on. The base is not a wash — it is a balm of shea butter, sunflower oil, jojoba oil and MCT that does not rinse fully away. Pomegranate sterols sit in that layer and slow water loss; bisabolol keeps it calm. The result is exfoliation that ends with lipids on the skin instead of gone from it.

Key ingredients

Sucrose (sugar crystals) · Shea butter · Sunflower seed oil · Caprylic/capric triglyceride (MCT) · Jojoba seed oil · Pomegranate sterols · Lactobacillus/papaya fruit ferment (papaya enzyme) · Bisabolol · Rosemary leaf extract

Full ingredients

Sucrose, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea) butter, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, medium chain triglycerides, isoamyl laurate, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, stearic acid, behentrimonium methosulfate, cetearyl alcohol, Punica granatum sterols, Lactobacillus/Papaya fruit ferment extract, fragrance, bisabolol, butylene glycol, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf extract.

How to use

In the shower, after cleansing, scoop a small amount with dry hands and massage onto damp skin in circles until the sugar dissolves — arms, legs, back, feet, anywhere rough. Rinse with warm water; a light lipid layer stays behind on purpose. Use two or three times a week. It also works well before shaving.

Formulated In-House

Ingredients That Do the Work:

Exfoliation + Enzyme Support + Barrier Repair + Lipid Balance

PHYSICAL EXFOLIATION

Sugar Crystals

Raw sugar crystals lift away dull buildup so skin feels smoother immediately. But exfoliation alone isn’t enough.

We built the formula with barrier-supporting lipids so the skin feels comfortable — not stripped — after you rinse.

BARRIER REINFORCEMENT

Pomegranate Sterols

A powerful plant-derived lipid that strengthens the skin barrier and improves moisture retention.

Ingredients like this are often skipped because they’re expensive and harder to formulate with.

We use them because they outperform the alternatives.

LIPID REPLENISHMENT

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba closely mirrors the skin’s natural lipids, helping restore balance and reinforce moisture retention.

Healthy skin depends on lipids — something most exfoliating products ignore.

ENZYMATIC SUPPORT

Lactobacillus + Papaya Ferment

A gentle enzymatic ferment that helps loosen buildup and refine skin texture.

It supports the physical exfoliation from sugar so the skin becomes smoother without needing aggressive scrubs.

Every ingredient has a job.

NOW

FEEL IT

Gritty for the first minute, then the sugar melts and the balm takes over. Rinse and your skin feels smooth and already conditioned — not squeaky, not tight.

NEXT

TEXTURE EVENS

Used two or three times a week, rough patches on elbows, knees, heels and the backs of arms smooth out and body oil or balm sinks in more evenly.

OVER TIME

BARRIER LEFT ALONE

Exfoliating without stripping is what makes it repeatable. The lipid layer Exfolis leaves behind means step 2 never undoes steps 3 and 4.

WHAT'S IN IT. WHAT THE RESEARCH FOUND.

KEY ACTIVES.
DOSED RIGHT.

Sugar, a papaya enzyme ferment and a lipid balm base. Here is what the research says about the three doing the most work — studies on the ingredients, not on this jar.

01 / 03
PAPAYA ENZYME
SHEDS DEAD CELLS
A Lactobacillus ferment of papaya fruit, the source of the protein-dissolving enzyme papain. It loosens the protein bonds holding spent cells to the surface, so the sugar has less to scrub off and can be gentler doing it.
A 2022 systematic review of in-vitro and in-vivo studies found that proteolytic enzymes including papain mimic the skin's own desquamation process and exfoliate the skin, while noting few large clinical trials exist. In a separate lab study, electron microscopy of skin treated with papain showed visible exfoliating activity. Ingredient-level evidence, not a trial on a rinse-off scrub.
02 / 03
POMEGRANATE STEROLS
+94%
Plant sterols pressed from pomegranate seed — a waxy lipid that behaves like lanolin, sitting in the barrier and slowing water loss. It is the reason Exfolis leaves skin conditioned rather than stripped.
In a 24-hour moisturization test on 16 volunteers aged 20–45, skin hydration rose 94% versus baseline after one application of the pomegranate sterol fraction, measured by conductance probe against a standard moisturizing cream control. Supplier in-vivo data, small panel, leave-on lotion.
03 / 03
JOJOBA OIL
2 WEEKS
A liquid wax ester from the jojoba seed, structurally close to the wax esters in your own sebum. Together with shea butter and sunflower oil it forms the balm that stays on skin after the sugar dissolves.
In a randomized, multi-center pilot study of 32 people with dry skin, jojoba oil applied twice daily significantly increased skin hydration by week 2 (p<0.01) and performed as well as white petrolatum. Leave-on oil, small study.

Study results describe research on the individual ingredient, not clinical testing of this finished formula. Individual results vary.

HOW TO USE

SCRUB. RINSE. DONE.

It is oil-based, so the shower floor gets slippery. Mind your step, and skip it on freshly shaved or irritated skin.
